Qualifcation help please?

I would like to become a mental health nurse or go into the therapy side of things but i can't afford to go to uni as i need to work full time to pay bills etc. I have been looking at home learning courses and have found one on an ncc.co.uk which say the diploma is recognised by the relevent government agencies and departments including QCA(qualifications and curriculum authority) and DIUS (department for innovation,universities and skills)in England. Could i still get a job with these qualifications? Or do i have to go to uni, i am 24 and would find home learning course better for my situation. If you could give any info i would be grateful
